The idea behind buying this particular product was that I wanted a compact set with substantial versatility while being self-contained. The Stanley basecamp is all of these things, but there are some good and bad quality parts that will be covered in the following sections. Overall I would say this set does fulfill its purpose of being able to support meals for multiple people, and for the price of the set, there is little room to complain, considering the following best choices are in the 120 to 160 range for a set....

Utility on Demand Most overland rigs you see will have some form of air supply on them. This can range from the newer PowerTanks, which are compressed CO2, to the full engine-driven air supply systems. The main reason to have one is apparent; you need to be able to fill tires out in the country. Anytime you patch a puncture, you’ll need air to fill it back up, but also, when the trek is done, it is nice to air the tires back up to road pressure for the trip back....

Canvas Tent Must Haves

What might be helpful? For some, a canvas tent may come with everything you need. Some don’t have floors, so some items won’t apply. From my experience with my Springbar, you can spend a little on things that will make the experience far less cumbersome. Tents with floors like mine naturally will get dirty from mud being tracked in with you or your dog. The same floor can also get dirty from the outside if it was set up in the rain or if water runs under it, it can become muddy....

Why go canvas over modern materials? There are hundreds if not thousands of tents on the market using modern materials that make tents lighter while maintaining durability. However, sometimes this leads to a factor not often expressed when camping, which is the atmosphere of the equipment. Certainly I would agree that on a list of priorities this would fall rather low, but it would still make the list.
